Meet the updated AquaTru Classic display

Meet the updated AquaTru Classic display

If you already use the AquaTru Classic, you will know it for its dependability. It quietly transforms everyday tap water into clean, great-tasting water, reducing up to 99% of harmful contaminants through its 4-stage Ultra Reverse Osmosis filtration. That part remains exactly the same. What has changed is how the Classic communicates with you.

The new display introduces a thoughtful design update that makes daily use even easier to follow. The filtration system and filters are unchanged, so your water is just as pure as before. The difference is in how you read and interact with it.

Same trusted Classic with clearer guidance

You can think of the new display as the Classic finding a more natural way to express itself. The previous control panel relied on numbers to indicate which filter needed attention. It worked, yet you needed to remember which number matched each filter.

The refreshed design replaces those numbers with clear symbols that correspond directly to the individual filters. Instead of reading a code such as “filter 3”, you now see a symbol representing the reverse osmosis membrane. Instead of “filter 4”, you see the icon for the VOC carbon filter. It feels more intuitive, particularly if you are new to reverse osmosis systems or prefer visual cues over numbered indicators.

Behind the display, the 4-stage filtration process functions exactly as before. Pre-carbon filtration, reverse osmosis and VOC carbon filtration continue to work together to reduce contaminants including lead, PFAS, fluoride and microplastics.

A closer look at the new display

A quick glance at the updated control panel now tells you everything you need at once. The new symbols sit clearly on the front of the unit and make it easy to see which filter is due for replacement, when to empty and refill the tap water tank and when the system would benefit from a descale.

Seeing the two displays side by side highlights what has changed. The filtration technology itself is untouched. What you now have is a more intuitive, friendlier way for the Classic to communicate with you during everyday use.

From numbers to symbols

Why give so much importance to symbols? Most of us interact with our water purifier in short moments throughout the day. You refill the tap water tank between cooking steps. You glance at the display while making tea. You use the dispenser while juggling other tasks. In those tiny windows, a clear symbol is far easier to recognise than a number or code.

On the updated AquaTru Classic display, you see three core types of information.

  1. Filter icons that show which filter needs replacing, using simple VOC, RO and pre-filter symbols instead of numbers.
  2. A tap tank prompt that lets you know when to empty and refill the tap water tank.
  3. A dedicated maintenance indicator that supports the long-term health of the unit.

The intention is not to add more complexity. It is to simplify your routine. You spend less time checking the manual and more time enjoying clean, great-tasting water.

Maintenance Mode that supports your purifier

All reverse osmosis systems work best with routine descaling, especially in homes with hard water. The Classic has always included guidance in the owner’s manual, where slower filtration is the usual sign that a descale is due.

With the updated display, that guidance becomes much easier to follow. The new Maintenance Mode light appears when the unit takes longer than usual to filter a full tank, which is often around thirty minutes. It is a straightforward cue that helps you stay ahead of limescale build-up.

This small improvement protects day-to-day performance and, for many households, makes the routine more predictable. Instead of trying to decide whether the flow has slowed, you receive a clear signal and can complete the usual descaling steps to bring the Classic back to its normal pace.

A reassuring note for Classic owners

If you have recently purchased an AquaTru Classic with the original display, there is no need to feel that your model has been overtaken. Your unit uses the very same 4-stage Ultra Reverse Osmosis technology as the refreshed version and provides the same high level of contaminant reduction.

Your filters are identical too. Replacement packs fit all Classic units, whether you have the earlier panel or the updated one.

You already enjoy the core strengths that make the Classic so well loved.

The new display simply arranges the familiar information in a more straightforward layout. If you ever choose to move to the refreshed version, your Classic will continue to operate as before. You gain a tidier panel while your filtration remains intact.

The Classic in the AquaTru line-up

Across the AquaTru range, the Classic appears alongside the compact Carafe and the built-in Under Sink system.

The refreshed display brings the Classic closer to the experience people enjoy with the Carafe. You still have the larger 2.7 litre purified water tank and the generous tap water capacity that suit busy households and small offices. Now you also have a clear, easy-to-read panel that shows filter status, tank prompts and maintenance cues at a glance.

If you are comparing models, the choice usually comes down to the layout and routine that work best for your kitchen. All AquaTru systems deliver the same filtration performance. The difference is simply in the format you prefer. And if you are unsure where to begin, our quick quiz can help point you towards the system that suits your daily habits.

A small change with real impact

At first glance, the new display might appear to be a small alteration. In day-to-day use, it quietly removes the uncertainty from running the Classic. With one look, you can see which filter is due for replacement, when to empty and refill the tap water tank and when a descale will keep everything performing well.

Everything else stays comfortably familiar. The AquaTru Classic continues to provide the same trusted filtration and clean, great-tasting water that households rely on. It is the purifier you already know, now with a front panel that is clearer to read and simple to live with each day.
